Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Grease a baking dish with butter.
Place the bread cubes in the baking dish.
In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
Pour the egg mixture over the bread cubes, making sure all pieces are coated.
Drizzle melted butter over the top.
Bake in preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the center is set.
Serve warm with maple syrup.
Notes:
For a richer flavor, prepare the casserole the night before and refrigerate. Bake in the morning.
