Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French bread cut into cubes
  • 8 eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract

Topping

  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup butter cold, cut into pieces

Instructions: 

  • 1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • 2. Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • 3. Place the cubed French bread in the baking dish.
  • 4. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract.
  • 5. Pour the egg mixture over the bread, making sure all pieces are soaked.
  • 6. In another bowl, mix together the flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • 7. Sprinkle the topping mixture evenly over the soaked bread.
  • 8. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the center is set.
  • 9. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!

Notes:

This casserole can be prepared the night before and baked in the morning.
