Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 12 oz egg noodles
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 jar spaghetti sauce (24 oz)
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions: 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Cook egg noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  • In a skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  • Stir in spaghetti sauce, basil, oregano, garlic, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  • In a large bowl, combine cooked noodles, cottage cheese, Parmesan cheese, and 1 cup of mozzarella cheese.
  • In a greased baking dish, layer half of the noodle mixture, then half of the meat sauce. Repeat layers.
  • Top with remaining 1 cup of mozzarella cheese.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes:

Feel free to add your favorite veggies to the meat sauce for extra flavor and nutrition.
