Unstuffed Cabbage Rolls Casserole

Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 1 Onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 head Cabbage, chopped
  • 1 can Tomato Sauce (15 oz)
  • 1 can Diced Tomatoes (14.5 oz)
  • 1 cup Uncooked Rice
  • 2 cups Beef Broth
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper

Instructions: 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  • Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until the onion is translucent.
  • Stir in the chopped cabbage, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, uncooked rice, beef broth, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  • Transfer the mixture to a baking dish. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes, or until the rice is cooked and the cabbage is tender.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes to let the top brown slightly.
  • Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!

Notes:

This casserole is a great make-ahead meal. It reheats well and can be frozen for later.
