Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb mostaccioli pasta
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 24 oz marinara sauce 1 jar
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions: 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Cook pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  • Add chopped onion and garlic to the skillet. Cook until onion is translucent.
  • Stir in marinara sauce, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine cooked pasta and meat sauce. Mix well.
  • Transfer half of the pasta mixture to a 9x13 inch baking dish. Sprinkle with half of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  • Add the remaining pasta mixture on top and sprinkle with the remaining cheese.
  • Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  • Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  • Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes:

Feel free to add your favorite veggies or use Italian sausage instead of ground beef for a different twist.
