Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Boil the rutabaga in a pot of salted water until tender, about 20 minutes. Drain and mash.
3. In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed rutabaga, breadcrumbs, heavy cream, molasses, melted butter, salt, white pepper, and nutmeg. Mix well.
4. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and smooth the top.
5. Bake in the preheated oven for 1.5 hours, until the top is golden brown and the casserole is set.
Notes:
This casserole is a staple in Finnish Christmas dinners.
