Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a mixing bowl, combine sliced green tomatoes, chopped onion, salt, and pepper.
Layer half of the tomato mixture in a baking dish. Sprinkle half of the breadcrumbs and cheese over the tomatoes.
Repeat layers with remaining tomato mixture, breadcrumbs, and cheese.
Drizzle melted butter over the top.
Bake in preheated oven for 45 minutes, until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
Notes:
Let the casserole rest for a few minutes before serving.
