Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Blanch the asparagus in boiling water for 2-3 minutes, then drain and set aside.
In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes.
Gradually whisk in the milk, cooking until the mixture thickens.
Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese, salt, and black pepper until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.
Place the blanched asparagus in a baking dish and pour the cheese sauce over the top.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, until the top is golden and bubbly.
Serve hot and enjoy!
