Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can tomato sauce (15 oz)
  • 1 can diced tomatoes (15 oz)
  • 2 cups uncooked pasta (elbow macaroni or similar)
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • to taste salt and pepper

Instructions: 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  • Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until the onion is translucent.
  • Stir in the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for about 10 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta with the meat sauce. Mix well.
  • Transfer the mixture to a baking dish. Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!

Notes:

This casserole is perfect for a family dinner or a potluck. You can also add vegetables like bell peppers or mushrooms for extra flavor.
