Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 8 slices Bread preferably day-old
  • 2 cups Shredded Gruyere Cheese
  • 1 cup Ham diced
  • 2 cups Milk
  • 4 Eggs beaten
  • 1 tbsp Dijon Mustard
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper freshly ground

Instructions: 

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Grease a baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the milk, beaten eggs, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper.
  • Layer half of the bread slices in the bottom of the baking dish.
  • Sprinkle half of the shredded Gruyere cheese and diced ham over the bread.
  • Top with the remaining bread slices.
  • Pour the milk and egg mixture evenly over the bread layers.
  • Sprinkle the remaining Gruyere cheese on top.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden and the casserole is set.
  • Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes:

Great for brunch or a cozy dinner.
