Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup grits quick-cooking
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 1/4 cup butter melted

Instructions: 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a saucepan, bring water and salt to a boil. Gradually stir in grits. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Remove from heat. Stir in cheese and butter until melted.
  • In a small bowl, combine milk and beaten eggs. Gradually stir into grits mixture.
  • Pour mixture into a greased baking dish.
  • Bake for 45 minutes or until set and golden brown.

Notes:

Let the casserole sit for a few minutes before serving to firm up.
