Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 head cabbage chopped
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 can tomato sauce (15 oz)
  • 1 can diced tomatoes (14.5 oz)
  • 1 cup rice cooked
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper

Instructions: 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  • Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook until the onion is translucent.
  • Stir in the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, cooked rice, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  • In a large baking dish, layer half of the chopped cabbage, then half of the meat mixture. Repeat the layers.
  • Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
  • Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes:

This casserole is a great make-ahead meal. You can assemble it a day in advance and bake it when you're ready to eat.
