Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook until the onion is translucent.
Stir in the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, cooked rice, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
In a large baking dish, layer half of the chopped cabbage, then half of the meat mixture. Repeat the layers.
Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes:
This casserole is a great make-ahead meal. You can assemble it a day in advance and bake it when you're ready to eat.
