Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, salt, and pepper.
Add the chopped onion and shredded cheddar cheese to the mixture and stir well.
Fold in the frozen tater tots until they are well coated with the mixture.
Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and spread it out evenly.
Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and crispy.
Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes:
Feel free to add cooked ground beef or bacon for extra flavor.
