Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 4 cups yams, peeled and cubed
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt

Instructions: 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the yams, brown sugar, melted butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix well.
  • Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and spread it out evenly.
  • Sprinkle the chopped pecans over the top.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the yams are tender and the top is golden brown.
  • Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes:

This dish can be prepared a day in advance and baked just before serving.
