Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large mixing bowl, combine the yams, brown sugar, melted butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix well.
Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and spread it out evenly.
Sprinkle the chopped pecans over the top.
Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the yams are tender and the top is golden brown.
Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes:
This dish can be prepared a day in advance and baked just before serving.
