Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French bread cut into cubes
  • 8 eggs
  • 2 cups half-and-half
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup butter softened
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 2 tbsp light corn syrup

Instructions: 

  • 1. Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish. Arrange the bread cubes in the dish.
  • 2. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, half-and-half, milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Pour over the bread cubes, making sure all are soaked. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  • 3. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). In a medium bowl, mix together butter, brown sugar, pecans, and corn syrup. Spread mixture over the bread.
  • 4. Bake in preheated oven for 45 minutes, until puffed and lightly golden. Serve warm.

Notes:

Best served with a drizzle of maple syrup and a side of fresh fruit.
