potatoes, peeled and sliced

onion, chopped

garlic, minced

cheddar cheese, shredded

milk

butter
to taste
salt and pepper
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until onion is translucent.
In a baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes. Season with salt and pepper.
Spread the ground beef mixture over the potatoes. Layer the remaining potatoes on top.
In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour to make a roux. Gradually whisk in milk until smooth and thickened.
Pour the sauce over the casserole. Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
Bake in preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until potatoes are tender and cheese is bubbly and golden.
Notes:
Let the casserole rest for a few minutes before serving.
