Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large skillet, cook ground beef and onion over medium heat until beef is browned. Add garlic and cook for another minute.
In a large mixing bowl, combine cooked beef mixture, cooked rice, tomato sauce, sauerkraut, salt, and pepper.
Layer half of the chopped cabbage in a baking dish. Spread the beef mixture over the cabbage. Top with remaining cabbage.
Cover with foil and bake for 1 hour, or until cabbage is tender.
Let stand for a few minutes before serving.
Notes:
This casserole is a great way to enjoy the flavors of cabbage rolls without the fuss of rolling them individually.
