Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the onions, sugar, and salt. Cook until the onions are caramelized, about 20 minutes.
Add the beef broth and heavy cream to the skillet. Bring to a simmer.
Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and add to the skillet. Mix well.
Transfer the mixture to a baking dish. Top with Gruyere and Parmesan cheese.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes:
This dish pairs well with a simple green salad.
