Churro French Toast Casserole

Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 loaf Challah bread cut into cubes
  • 6 Eggs
  • 2 cups Milk
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 2 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp Ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 cup Butter melted
  • 1/4 cup Sugar for topping
  • 1 tsp Ground cinnamon for topping

Instructions: 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt.
  • Place the cubed challah bread in a greased baking dish.
  • Pour the egg mixture over the bread cubes, making sure all pieces are well-coated.
  • Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the topping sugar and ground cinnamon.
  • Brush the melted butter over the top of the casserole and sprinkle with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  • Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes:

Best served fresh, but can be reheated in the oven.
