Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups grits
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted

Instructions: 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add grits and cook until thickened, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and stir in cheese, milk, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  • In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and then add them to the grits mixture along with the melted butter. Mix well.
  • Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish and bake for 45 minutes or until set and golden on top.
  • Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!

Notes:

For a spicier version, add some chopped jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce.
