Equipment

  • Baking Dish
  • Large skillet
  • Oven

Ingredients:

Main Ingredients

  • 1 large spaghetti squash
  • 1 pound Italian sausage casings removed
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Cut the spaghetti squash in half lengthwise and remove the seeds. Place the squash halves cut-side down on a baking sheet and bake for 30-40 minutes, or until tender.
  • 2. While the squash is baking, cook the Italian sausage in a large skillet over medium heat until browned and cooked through. Drain any excess fat.
  • 3. Once the squash is done, use a fork to scrape out the strands into a large bowl. Add the cooked sausage, marinara sauce, 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  • 4. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and top with the remaining 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese. Bake for 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • 5. Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!
