Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 6 medium potatoes peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons butter cut into small pieces

Instructions: 

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Grease a baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
  • Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the bottom of the dish.
  • Sprinkle half of the salt, pepper, and cheese over the potatoes.
  • Repeat with the remaining potatoes, salt, pepper, and cheese.
  • Pour the heavy cream evenly over the top.
  • Dot the top with pieces of butter.
  • Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 40 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 20 minutes, or until the top is golden and the potatoes are tender.
  • Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes:

This casserole pairs well with a fresh green salad.
