heavy cream

shredded cheddar cheese

black pepper

butter
cut into small pieces
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Grease a baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the bottom of the dish.
Sprinkle half of the salt, pepper, and cheese over the potatoes.
Repeat with the remaining potatoes, salt, pepper, and cheese.
Pour the heavy cream evenly over the top.
Dot the top with pieces of butter.
Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 40 minutes.
Remove the foil and bake for an additional 20 minutes, or until the top is golden and the potatoes are tender.
Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes:
This casserole pairs well with a fresh green salad.
