Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb Italian sausage casings removed
  • 1 lb pasta penne or rigatoni
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • to taste salt and pepper

Instructions: 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Cook pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, cook until softened.
  • Add Italian sausage to the skillet. Cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
  • Stir in marinara sauce, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Combine cooked pasta and sausage mixture in a baking dish. Top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes:

Feel free to add some veggies like bell peppers or spinach for extra nutrition.
