Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup grits quick-cooking
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 lb shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder

Instructions: 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a saucepan, bring water to a boil. Add grits and cook until thickened, about 5 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and stir in butter, cheese, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine cooked grits with shrimp.
  • Transfer mixture to a greased baking dish and bake for 30 minutes.
  • Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes:

For extra flavor, add a dash of hot sauce or some chopped green onions on top before serving.
