Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 2 lbs collard greens, chopped
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • to taste salt and pepper

Instructions: 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large pot, boil the collard greens for 10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  • In a skillet, sauté the onion and garlic in butter until soft.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the collard greens, sautéed onions and garlic, milk, salt, and pepper.
  • Transfer the mixture to a baking dish. Top with shredded cheddar cheese and breadcrumbs.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.

Notes:

For a spicier version, add some red pepper flakes to the mixture.
