Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 loaf challah bread, cubed
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 0.5 cup chopped pecans (optional)
  • Maple syrup for serving

Instructions: 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • Place cubed challah bread in the baking dish.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  • Pour the egg mixture over the bread, making sure all pieces are soaked.
  • Sprinkle chopped pecans on top if using.
  • Bake for 45 minutes or until the top is golden and the center is set.
  • Serve warm with maple syrup.

Notes:

Feel free to add your favorite toppings like fresh berries or whipped cream.
