Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 4 pieces German sausages
  • 3 cups Potatoes, diced
  • 1 cup Onions, chopped
  • 1 cup Bell peppers, chopped
  • 2 cups Sauerkraut
  • 1 cup Chicken broth
  • 1 tsp Caraway seeds
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Instructions: 

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large casserole dish, layer the diced potatoes, chopped onions, and bell peppers.
  • Place the German sausages on top of the vegetables.
  • Spread the sauerkraut evenly over the sausages.
  • Pour the chicken broth over the entire dish and sprinkle with caraway seeds, salt, and pepper.
  • Cover the casserole dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the sausages are cooked through.
  • Let the casserole rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes:

This casserole is great served with a side of crusty bread.
