Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 6 large apples peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tbsp butter cut into small pieces

Instructions: 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  • Layer half of the apple slices in a baking dish.
  • Sprinkle half of the sugar mixture over the apples.
  • Repeat with the remaining apples and sugar mixture.
  • Pour water over the apples and dot with butter pieces.
  • Bake for 45 minutes or until apples are tender and the top is golden brown.

Notes:

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
