Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a mixing bowl, combine sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
Layer half of the apple slices in a baking dish.
Sprinkle half of the sugar mixture over the apples.
Repeat with the remaining apples and sugar mixture.
Pour water over the apples and dot with butter pieces.
Bake for 45 minutes or until apples are tender and the top is golden brown.
Notes:
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
