Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Cook the macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes.
Gradually whisk in the milk, and cook until the mixture thickens and bubbles.
Remove from heat and stir in the shredded cheese until melted. Season with salt and pepper.
Add the cooked macaroni and crumbled bacon to the cheese sauce. Stir to combine.
Pour the mixture into a baking dish and bake for 20-25 minutes, until bubbly and golden on top.
Notes:
For extra crunch, top with breadcrumbs before baking.
