shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions:
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a skillet, cook sausage over medium heat until browned. Remove sausage and set aside.
In the same skillet, add flour to the sausage drippings and cook for 1-2 minutes.
Gradually whisk in milk, cooking until the mixture thickens into a gravy. Season with salt and pepper.
Return sausage to the skillet and stir to combine with the gravy.
Pour sausage gravy into a baking dish. Top with an even layer of tater tots.
Bake in preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, until tater tots are golden and crispy.
Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top and bake for an additional 5 minutes, until cheese is melted.
Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes:
For extra flavor, add chopped onions or bell peppers to the sausage while cooking.
