Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Cook sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
In a pot, bring water to a boil. Stir in grits and cook until thickened.
In a mixing bowl, combine cooked grits, sausage, cheese, milk, eggs, salt, and pepper.
Pour mixture into a greased baking dish.
Bake for 45 minutes or until set and golden brown.
Notes:
Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving. You can also add some chopped green onions or bell peppers for extra flavor.
