Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, 1/2 cup brown sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
Place the bread cubes in a greased baking dish. Pour the egg mixture over the bread, ensuring all pieces are soaked.
Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup brown sugar and chopped pecans over the top.
Bake for 45 minutes or until the top is golden and the casserole is set.
Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!
Notes:
For a richer flavor, prepare the casserole the night before and refrigerate. Bake it fresh in the morning.
