Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French bread cut into cubes
  • 6 eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup brown sugar divided
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup pecans chopped

Instructions: 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, 1/2 cup brown sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  • Place the bread cubes in a greased baking dish. Pour the egg mixture over the bread, ensuring all pieces are soaked.
  • Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup brown sugar and chopped pecans over the top.
  • Bake for 45 minutes or until the top is golden and the casserole is set.
  • Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!

Notes:

For a richer flavor, prepare the casserole the night before and refrigerate. Bake it fresh in the morning.
