Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 500 g Beef or Lamb cut into chunks
  • 1 kg Potatoes peeled and sliced
  • 2 Onions sliced
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 1 cup Beef Broth
  • 1 tsp Thyme dried
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper

Instructions: 

  • Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  • In a frying pan, melt the butter and brown the meat chunks. Set aside.
  • In the same pan, sauté the onions and garlic until soft.
  • Layer half of the sliced potatoes in a casserole dish.
  • Add a layer of the browned meat, followed by the sautéed onions and garlic.
  • Season with thyme, salt, and pepper.
  • Pour the beef broth over the layers.
  • Top with the remaining sliced potatoes.
  • Cover the dish with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the potatoes are golden and crispy.

Notes:

This dish is perfect for a cozy family dinner. Serve with a side of green vegetables or a fresh salad.
