Ingredients:

Cooter (turtle meat)
cleaned and cut into pieces

Onion
chopped

Garlic
minced

Chicken broth

Diced tomatoes
canned

Okra
sliced

to taste

Black pepper
to taste
Instructions:
1. In a large pot, heat some oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until softened.
2. Add the cooter pieces to the pot and brown on all sides.
3. Pour in the chicken broth and diced tomatoes. Bring to a boil.
4. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for about 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the meat is tender.
5. Add the sliced okra, salt, and black pepper. Cook for another 10-15 minutes.
6. Serve hot and enjoy your cooter stew!

This is a traditional Southern recipe. Adjust seasoning to your taste.
