Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 kg Beef chuck cut into cubes
  • 2 stalks Lemongrass bruised and cut into 2-inch pieces
  • 1 large Onion chopped
  • 3 cloves Garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp Fish sauce
  • 1 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Sugar
  • 4 cups Beef broth
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable oil
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Instructions: 

  • 1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  • 2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until fragrant.
  • 3. Add the beef cubes and cook until browned on all sides.
  • 4. Add the lemongrass, fish sauce, soy sauce, and sugar. Stir well.
  • 5. Pour in the beef broth and bring to a boil.
  • 6. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 2 hours, or until the beef is tender.
  • 7. Season with salt and pepper to taste before serving.

Notes:

This stew pairs well with steamed rice or crusty bread.
