Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Beef chuck, cut into cubes
  • 1 large Onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 cups Beef broth
  • 2 pcs Bay leaves
  • 3 pcs Carrots, sliced
  • 2 pcs Potatoes, cubed
  • 1 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Fish sauce
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Instructions: 

  • 1. In a large pot, heat some oil over medium heat. Add the onions and garlic, and cook until softened.
  • 2. Add the beef cubes and cook until browned on all sides.
  • 3. Pour in the beef broth and add the bay leaves. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 1 hour, or until the beef is tender.
  • 4. Add the carrots and potatoes, and continue to simmer for another 30 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender.
  • 5. Stir in the soy sauce and fish sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Simmer for an additional 10 minutes.
  • 6. Serve hot with steamed rice.
