soaked in water for 1 hour

Black Pepper
Instructions:
1. Clean the chicken and remove any excess fat. Rinse the glutinous rice under cold water and soak for 1 hour.
2. Stuff the chicken with the soaked rice, garlic cloves, and ginseng roots. Use a toothpick to close the cavity.
3. Place the chicken in a large pot and add the water, ginger slices, and green onion pieces.
4. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 1.5 hours, until the chicken is tender and the broth is flavorful.
5. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Serve hot.
Notes:
Samgyetang is often enjoyed during the summer for its supposed health benefits. Feel free to add more herbs or adjust the seasoning to your taste.
