Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pint oysters, shucked
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream
  • 0.25 cup butter
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon paprika
  • 0.25 teaspoon celery salt
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions: 

  • In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until soft and translucent.
  • Add the oysters and their liquor to the pot. Cook until the edges of the oysters curl, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Pour in the milk and heavy cream. Stir to combine.
  • Season with salt, black pepper, paprika, and celery salt. Simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.
