Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 lb okra, trimmed
  • 1 lb beef stew meat, cubed
  • 1 can diced tomatoes 14.5 oz
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 0.5 tsp cinnamon
  • 0.25 tsp cayenne pepper

Instructions: 

  • Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, sauté until soft.
  • Add beef and cook until browned on all sides.
  • Stir in turmeric, salt, black pepper, cinnamon, and cayenne pepper.
  • Add diced tomatoes and beef broth, bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 30 minutes.
  • Add okra and cook for another 15 minutes until tender.

Notes:

Serve with rice or bread.
