Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 500 g Beef chuck cut into chunks
  • 2 Carrots peeled and chopped
  • 2 Potatoes peeled and chopped
  • 1 Onion chopped
  • 3 cups Beef broth
  • 2 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp Mirin
  • 1 tbsp Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water

Instructions: 

  • Heat the oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the beef and cook until browned on all sides.
  • Add the onion and cook until softened.
  • Add the carrots and potatoes, and cook for a few minutes.
  • Pour in the beef broth, soy sauce, mirin, and sugar. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for about 1 hour, or until the beef is tender.
  • Stir in the cornstarch mixture and cook until the stew thickens.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes:

Feel free to add other vegetables like mushrooms or peas.
