Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup shiro powder
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons berbere spice
  • 3 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • to taste Salt

Instructions: 

  • Heat oil in a pot over medium heat. Add onions and cook until soft.
  • Add garlic and berbere spice, cook for another minute.
  • Stir in shiro powder and gradually add water, stirring constantly to avoid lumps.
  • Simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.
  • Season with salt to taste.

Notes:

Serve with injera or rice.
