Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 500 g Lamb, cubed
  • 2 Quinces, peeled and sliced
  • 1 Onion, chopped
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp Turmeric
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 2 cups Water
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Instructions: 

  • 1. Heat the oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until golden.
  • 2. Add the lamb cubes and brown on all sides.
  • 3. Stir in the turmeric and cinnamon, and cook for another minute.
  • 4. Add the sliced quinces and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 1.5 hours.
  • 5. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot.

Notes:

This stew pairs well with saffron rice.
