Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb lamb shoulder, cut into chunks
  • 1 can chickpeas, drained and rinsed 15 oz
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can diced tomatoes 14.5 oz
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 0.5 tsp ground cinnamon
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • to taste Fresh cilantro, chopped for garnish

Instructions: 

  • Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add lamb and brown on all sides.
  • Add chopped onion and garlic, cook until softened.
  • Stir in cumin, coriander, and cinnamon. Cook for another minute.
  • Add diced tomatoes, beef broth, and chickpeas. Bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 1 hour 30 minutes, or until lamb is tender.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
