Instructions:
1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
2. Add beef stew meat and cook until browned on all sides.
3. Add garlic and cook for another minute.
4. Add fennel, carrots, and potatoes. Stir well.
5. Pour in beef broth, bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 90 minutes.
6. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot.
Notes:
For a thicker stew, you can add a tablespoon of flour when adding the vegetables.
