Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups white rice
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper

Instructions: 

  • 1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  • 2. In a pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add the rice and a pinch of salt. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes or until rice is tender.
  • 3. In a pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and cook until translucent.
  • 4. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  • 5. Pour in the tomato sauce, add salt and black pepper to taste. Let it simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  • 6. Serve the stew over the cooked white rice.

Notes:

Feel free to add your favorite vegetables or proteins to the stew.
