beef broth

vegetable oil
to taste

Instructions:
Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add beef and brown on all sides.
Add onion and garlic, cook until softened.
Stir in tomatoes and cook for a few minutes.
Pour in beef broth, bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour.
Add okra and cook for another 30 minutes.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Notes:
For a thicker stew, you can add a slurry of cornstarch and water during the last 10 minutes of cooking.
