Salt and Pepper
Instructions:
1. Season the chicken with salt, pepper, and thyme.
2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the brown sugar and let it caramelize.
3. Add the chicken pieces to the pot and brown on all sides.
4. Add the onion, garlic, soy sauce, and ketchup. Stir well.
5. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and let it simmer for 30 minutes.
6. Add the chopped cabbage and cook for another 15 minutes, until the cabbage is tender.
7. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot.
Notes:
For a spicier version, add a Scotch bonnet pepper.
