Instructions:
1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes.
2. Add the minced garlic, ground cumin, ground cinnamon, ground turmeric, and ground ginger. Cook for another 2 minutes, stirring frequently.
3. Add the cubed sweet potatoes, chickpeas, diced tomatoes, and vegetable broth. Bring to a boil.
4. Reduce heat to low and let simmer for about 30-35 minutes, or until the sweet potatoes are tender.
5. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Serve hot.
