Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 500 g Beef chuck cut into cubes
  • 2 Onions chopped
  • 3 cloves Garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Brown sugar
  • 1 tsp Ground coriander
  • 1 tsp Ground cumin
  • 400 ml Coconut milk
  • 2 cups Beef broth
  • 2 Bay leaves
  • 1 stick Cinnamon
  • 1 tsp Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp Black pepper to taste

Instructions: 

  • 1. Heat a large pot over medium heat and add a bit of oil.
  • 2. Add the chopped onions and minced garlic, sauté until fragrant.
  • 3. Add the beef cubes and brown them on all sides.
  • 4. Stir in soy sauce, brown sugar, ground coriander, and ground cumin.
  • 5. Pour in the coconut milk and beef broth, then add bay leaves and cinnamon stick.
  • 6. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let it simmer for about 2 hours, or until the beef is tender.
  • 7. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  • 8. Serve hot with rice or bread.

Notes:

This stew tastes even better the next day, so feel free to make it ahead of time.
