Ingredients:  

Main Ingredients

  • 500 g Lamb or Beef cut into cubes
  • 1 bunch Celery chopped
  • 1 bunch Parsley chopped
  • 1 bunch Mint chopped
  • 1 large Onion chopped
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable Oil
  • 1 tsp Turmeric
  • 2 cups Water
  • to taste Salt and Pepper

Instructions: 

  • 1. Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden.
  • 2. Add turmeric and meat cubes. Cook until meat is browned on all sides.
  • 3. Add chopped celery, parsley, and mint. Stir well and cook for another 5 minutes.
  • 4. Pour in water, bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 1.5 hours or until meat is tender.
  • 5. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot with rice.

Notes:

This stew is best served with Persian saffron rice.
